Sri Lanka's 75

Sri Lanka, teardrop of the Indian Ocean, Once a land of beauty, now in commotion. A paradise of beaches, hills, and green, Now shrouded in a cloak of strife and pain.

The wounds of the past still fresh and raw, The scars of war, the memories of law. The cries of the missing, the tears of the lost, A haunting melody of a country's cost.

The politics of power, the hunger for gain, The poison of hatred, the games of blame. The cracks in the unity, the rifts in the heart, A nation divided, tearing apart.

The flames of extremism, the rise of hate, The shadows of terror, the fear of fate. The clash of religions, the clash of minds, A battle of ideologies, leaving no binds.

But amidst the chaos, a glimmer of hope, The resilience of the people, the strength to cope. The power of unity, the spirit of peace, A ray of light in the darkness of these.

Let's hope for a brighter tomorrow, A nation united, with no more sorrow. A land of peace, a land of love, A paradise reborn, rising above.
